go to nvars.com & take US embassy apointment for visa stamping.
generally its filled 4 weeks ahead, so keep trying. first get a canadian visa from nearby canada embassy or by courier/mail

Contact Shirley Wu at Rubin Kaplan. She is the one who helped me with my gc process although company paid for it but she is good.....I dont know about $ but atleast you know she is good and just do a google search and you can call them.

Please explain how you have worked in Illinios for XYZ company( my GC sponsoring Company) living in MN,WA and TX.
The above description is the one line RFE that I got. I don't have more details to give. I guess am like any other consultant who works in different states( Most of them).
My 140 is approved in Dec 2007. I had 1st RFE on I-485 and submitted the same in Dec 2009. for pay stubs and other things. This is the second RFE. I will consult good attorney. Any advise is helpful.
Also I entered US on AP and I started my own company few months back. I am still working for GC sponsoring company. If by my bad luck my 485 gets denied..what are my options? Also I have my H1 petition valid till May 2012 but I don't have it stamped. Do I need to leave the country and get it stamped?

I was also doing my part-time when I went for Visa ... For 33, I did say "yes" and gave the University name.
Not sure if IO looked at it ... did not ask me any questions regarding that ...

Yes, the principal applicant should be fine to travel withou any affect on the MTR.

No. OPT means in F1. As long as you register for enough credits, your status continues. The enough credits is determined by your international advisor.

The Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the Immigration Subcommittee Chairman, told the AP yesterday that he plans on introducing a comprehensive immigration reform bill before Labor Day and then hopes to have a debate on the bill in the fall. I was also in the same boat couple of months back and got two appointments. Technically we can send a letter to USCIS with explanation. But my attorney suggested me to go for the second appointment. So I went twice..

Here's my case
(EB3-I I485 filed & pending, got married after July 2007 episode and missed filing I485 for my wife.)
So, cannot use EAD during these transitions and continuing H1 filings & extensions...
My current H1b is expiring on Sep 30 2010, I 94 expires on Oct 09 2010 (I know the officer at DFW POE was kind enough to give expiry 10 days beyond petition exp date).
My current company filed for normal extension during 3rd week of Sep 2010.
Now I got job offer from another employer, who wants me to join from 11 Oct 2010 or I can ask them to advance joining date to 06 Oct 2010 (to rule out the possibility of being out of status). They are ready to do H1B premium. (They claim their track record is good, & they get very minimal denials)
Did anyone face this situation?
Also, once the new employer's H1B is filed, does it come with I-94 cards in the petition notice? (If not, I would have to go out & get stamped, don't I?)

Hello
I am on Advance Parole (AP) and I need to travel to Europe multiple times (at least 3 times) in the next 2-3 months. My new AP has been approved and it is in transit. Last year when I applied for AP, I had received two copies of the AP. Now since I will be making multiple trips, do I need to apply for multiple copies of the AP? I am asking since my understanding is that I will have to surrender one copy of the AP at the entry point every time I come into US.

Is it true that they really approved 60000 cases in June. I have a couple of friends that filed I-485 in 2005 and there background is clear too but still have not been approved. I don't understand what is going inside the blackbox. I read in forum that only 40,000 application were ready for approval but then why didn't these people application was not approved all thou there file was complete.

I am currently studying in the US on an F visa and have managed to loose my passport a couple of months ago. The passport itself is replaced but I hesitated to renew the I-94 since it takes longer time than my duration of status and it is cheaper to just leave the country and send a mail to USCIS later with proof of departure.
To the problem, I am changing status from F to A. Since the interview is not required I was able to obtain the new visa through mail. Now, I am currently in the US with a valid new visa but no I-94 which means I will be out of status two months after my F visa expires. Being close to the Mexican border my plan is to cross it and come back on the same day to officially get the A status and a new I-94. I will of course send photocopies of all the papers and stamps to USCIS to not fall out of status on the previous visa. Are there any legal problems doing this?

I think once the I-140 application is filed based on the state of residence, USCIS can transfer it to any service center. The applicant doesnt have any control over it. As far as I know, the applicant cannot request for a change in service center.

I suggest that we all get together to discuss how we can help the effort that immigration voice has undertaken. I did attend an IV meeting in NoVa a few weeks ago, I am keen on pushing an initiative of meeting periodically to discuss how we can collectively help our cause on this side of the river.

If the MD state chapter is already having meetings, please ignore this message; but some one please send me the information on when these meetings take place.

I guess USCIS is sending Receipt Notes according to priority dates meaning with 2006-7 priority dates will get receipts later.
My 485 reached on 2nd july...No Update yet.
